Feature Requests and Customisation

Do you have, or know of, a mapping site or service that you would like integrated into the Minimap addon? Do you want to have a customised version of the Minimap addon that works with your site or service?

Feature Requests
There are a few feature requests available at your disposal, depending on what and where it can fit in.

• View Location in…A request can be made to have the site or service added to this context menu entry. The site must have url parameters available to handle lat/lng or an address.
• Directions To/From…A request can be made if the site or service has directions ability in the url parameters, again lat/lng or address.
• Menu section…You will note tagzania and platial have their own menu section due to the different url paramters/functions available with their services. If you have something similar, send in your request.
• Miscellaeneous: Any other suggestions? Please feel free to add your request so I can get a handle on what is important to people and what is just surplus to requirements.

Please send me your ‘pitch’, stating why and how this will benefit the wider Minimap ecosystem. I am perfectly open to bribes, so if you happen to offer to cross my palm with silver, I will look favourably at your request.

Customisation Requests
Fully customise the extension to fit in with your site or service. Receive the extension and pass it around to as many as you like!

• Main Map: The heart of the Minimap extension is actually just a fully fluid Google Maps API map on my webpage. If you have a site or service that can be optimised for viewing in the sidebar dimensions, the extension can be re-written with yours at its heart. Can be an API other than Google.
• Map Tab: Have the Map Tab point to your site/service instead of my default. By default the geoDiscovery statusbar menu goes to this tab; this will change also.
• Icons, menus and tools: Replace the default icons with yours, change menu names, add/remove some or all of the current toolbar buttons and menu items.

Fully customised versions are delivered to you to host and distribute. Due to the time and effort needed to construct customised versions, the offer of a donation to the cause, or not, will greatly affect my consideration for your customisation request. The level of customisation and the time required will also have an impact.
